High Performance can be the entrance to a professional environment in Portugal. Or the ticket to a scholarship to get a paid education combined with playing college football in the United States.
NF Academy is Norway’s largest academy and the Portuguese big club Sporting CP’s extended arm in the Nordic region as a scout and partner.
The player groups for the Elite program High Performance are built up of highly ranked players from the NF Academy system.
We have had the fastest recruitment process ever, and the 2008/09 team was completely full before the end of April. On the 2006/07 team, we still have some vacancies, but it will probably fill up quickly in the next few days.
This year we also have a number of different nationalities with players from all over Scandinavia, USA, Canada, Estonia and Portugal, says sports director Gonçalo Moura in NF Academy.

A success story
High Performance is an elite gathering for players who want a complete training experience at the amazing Rio Maior Sports Center in Portugal.
A first-class facility that contains everything needed for a professional player experience, and the training facility of the Portuguese national team. Here are fantastic pitches with both natural grass and artificial grass. Opportunities to play beach football or beach volleyball, an Olympic swimming pool facility and several sports halls to name a few.
This program has been the gateway to contracts with professional clubs in Portugal for NF Academy’s players in the past.
Danish Oskar Nielsen had participated in a number of international NF Academy programs before the midfielder impressed so much during the friendly match against Belenenses’ U17 team, that the Portuguese top club wanted him in their youth department.
The year was 2022, where Swedish Sahle Wallberg was also picked up and signed by Belenenses.
Now it may be your turn.
NF High Performance is an intensive 10-day program with a combination of 13 training sessions and 3 friendly matches against the Portuguese top academy. In addition, there are video analysis meetings on both an individual level and together as a team in what becomes a professional everyday life as a football player.
Players are trained and led by top UEFA coaches with national and international experience. These will also afterwards make evaluation reports on both the physical and technical, which will give clear feedback on what the player needs to work more on.
A bridge builder
The players who participate must keep from a high regional to a high national level, and have a strong motivation to develop their skills.
Both Portuguese scouts and coaches from major North American universities follow the matches closely.
NF Academy wants to be a bridge to the academic communities in Portugal. Clubs such as SL Benfica, Sporting CP, Casa Pia AC, Estoril Praia, FC Porto, CF Beleneneses, CD Mafra and GDS Cascais Futebol SAD have already announced their arrival, Moura continues.
The players who participate during High Performance can get a scholarship to train with a top Portuguese club for a period of time.
Football is also developing rapidly in the United States, and college football is the recruiting facility for the professional clubs.
Our players can get offers directly from College coaches. There are not many countries in the world that can give young people an opportunity to play football at a high level, while studying for a university degree, says Moura about another opportunity NF Academy’s elite program gives the players.
Professional Pre-Season
High Performance can be a game-changer and a big step towards the pro dream. It is also the optimal run-up to the autumn season, at a time of year when several countries have summer holidays from the league game.
The goal of the program is to give the players a professional pre-season, with evaluations on the physical, technical and tactical understanding of the game.
After this program, players will feel ready for any challenge. We have also invited a player and a coach to share their experiences and guide our players to the next steps in their careers, says Moura, who is looking forward to what will be the all-time edition of High Performance.
This is the most suitable program for the older players, who started their development journey with NF Academy when they were younger. An exclusive program that is the last step in our development model. It is focused on creating career opportunities in professional football and good human values, says sports director Gonçalo Moura in NF Academy in conclusion.
