Ibercup was the perfect challenge

Tino Ranvide joined the NF Academy at the Ibercup in Cascais and got exactly the challenge he wanted to develop further as a player.

The young talented 2010 player was part of the NF Elite Selection program of the NF Academy, which teams ran during the April edition of Ibercup Cascais.

Tino plays daily in Sjöbo IF from Skåne in Sweden, and has previously participated in a couple of local NF Academy – training camps. The fitness-winning midfielder faced a new challenge in his training-everyday, taking part in his first international program with the NF Academy, in Lisbon.

I like the Portuguese training methodology, how the coaches set up the sessions and how they want to play football. I liked that a lot during the local training camps I was participating, and I think NF Academy can help me further in the direction i want to develop. I signed up for the Ibercup to get a new challenge. To see where I stood against international resistance. At the same time, to have fun and meet new football friends, says Tino Ranvide.

Better understanding of the game

With Neymar Jr as a role model, and favorite teams like Malmö and Real Madrid, the goal for how good Tino wants to be in the end is set. He has plenty of time to build up his career but wants to train with quality to develop as a player along the way.

After participating at the Ibercup in Cascais, he has moved on.

Having been trained and played alongside high-quality players in Portugal, where I also had highly skilled coaches, I feel like coming home on everything has become easier for me. I have developed my understanding of the game and gained a higher speed with and without the ball, says Ranvide.

Combination of Portuguese coaches and fellow players from other countries have given him a new dimension.

“It is important for me to work under highly competent coaches who make high demands. It was really fun to meet and play with players from almost all of Scandinavia. I think we found each other quickly and got a team on the field”, Tino Ranvide said.

Often there are some nerves when it is the first time. Ranvide felt it, as it was his first international football experience.

I was a little nervous, as it was the first tournament abroad for me. Football-wise it went well and I liked the excitement Ibercup had. I was socialising with players and coaches outside of training and games. It was a very nice experience”, says Tino.

Barcelona calling

Ranvide trains three days a week with his home team in Sweden. He has supplement matches on weekends, and trains with a personal trainer and on his own every week. The eager under-12 player is participating in a lot of training camps in Sweden.

Being at his first international tournament, where he couldn’t see his mom and dad, meant that he could learn much more than just skills on the football field.

The days were great, and I was pretty much with my team the whole time. I made many new friends, taught me to take responsibility for my own private things and not least the time. I learned a lot of new training methods as well, that we don’t see home in Sweden. That means that you must learn how to collaborate with players who do not speak the same language. Ibercup was very instructive in several ways”, says Ranvide further on

Cascais is a beach bathed spot located a short half-time outside Lisbon. A pearl for both bathing and others who like sun and good temperatures for much of the year.

“Cascais was a fantastic place with beautiful beaches and training facilities. I love it there and I’m definitely going to come back”, Ranvide said, who has gained the taste for international experiences with NF Academy.

“Definitely! There’s a chance that we see each other again in Barcelona this summer“, concludes Tino Ranvide.
