It is an unfortunate fact that some players talent development has slowed down drastically due to COVID-19. Weeks without proper training is a lifetime in your most transformative years as a young footballer.

It is, therefore, more important than ever to train properly this summer and NF Academy has some great offerings for you. By signing up right now to NF International you will get intensive quality training with Portuguese coaches that have their backgrounds from Sporting CP, SL Benfica and other top academies in Portugal.

Due to COVID-19 we, however, have to take some precautions, so there will be limited spots this year. You should, therefore, sign up as soon as possible.

A stepping stone

Many of the players that have attended NF Academy’s events before are very happy with what they got out of it.

– I would say my time with NF Academy has helped take away the challenging aspect that new situations can produce, such as getting national team call-ups, changing clubs or taking further steps as a player, says Oscar Fuglesang who has been capped for Denmark U-17 eleven time.

The NF international also might be a stepping stone to greater arenas. At every event, a total of four players will be awarded the prize of “Player of the Age Category” and will then advance onto NF Qualification Camp in Denmark.

At this camp, there will be another selection of 8 players winning a week-long tryout stay filled with training at one of the world’s best academies, the academy of Sporting CP.

NF Virtual Academy

In NF Academy we also want to provide professional guidance for the players that haven´t peaked their talent development yet and probably need a couple of years before they can make it all the way to Sporting CP or to a national or regional team for that matter. Again, continuity is the key and by signing up for NF International you will get a free trial with Virtual Academy.

NF Virtual Academy gives players unique access to personal coaching by an NF Professional coach. Virtual training is really catching on these days and we want to be ahead of the curve and offer professional coaching also for players that haven’t reached a professional level yet. Why? We think it is crucial to train a professional from an early age if you have any aspirations of becoming one.

In our programs, players will get weekly physical, technical and theoretical training challenges and exercises from the coach. This means that you can be anywhere in the world and train as you were in your home town.

Each player will also receive individual follow-up and feedback in a weekly video consultation to evaluate the training and improvement areas for optimal progression.

This is a great supplement for any player regardless of the club situation.

15 hours per week

In NF Academy we constantly ask ourselves what it takes to reach the top and our Director Goncalo Nunes said the following in a previous interview.

– If you want to reach the top, you have to match professional standards from an early age. My references go back to the top academies in Portugal. In Sporting and Benfica, young players between the ages of 12 and 16 typically train an hour and a half every weekday. In addition to this, they play matches on weekends. In total, there will be a training load of about 9 hours. They should however also set aside some time to work on individual skills. 16-year-old players should also do fitness training. This isn´t just important because they need to put on weight. It is also important for injury prevention. All in all, a player hoping to reach the top should put in between 13 and 15 hours a week, I think.
