NF Academy does something about the players: Now the season is rolling in
The level of players gets higher every year. 2023 was the best ever for Norway’s greatest academy. Now the programme for next season is out and there is a lot to look forward to for all the young players seeking development.
The Norwegian season is on the wane, while the international big leagues are rolling at full power. 2023 brought NF Academy victories in European Cups, international recognition for its talent work and praise for an attractive way to play football.
Now, NF Sports Director Gonçalo Moura has his plan for 2024 ready. He wants to bring more young, dedicated players to the academy’s offering, which is a perfect complement to training at home in his own club.
Before we hear more about Riga Cup, Elite training camp during the winter holidays, Costa Daurada, Future Cup, High Performance, Laola Cup and the training camp in the autumn holidays, the Sports Director has a good advice for everyone in times when the krone exchange rate is weak against the euro and much else has become more expensive.
Most people can save up to 300 euros by signing up to these international programs early. Early bird, as we call it, also provides a guarantee of space, and greater certainty that you get to play in your best position on the team. Because places are limited and we select harder in the strongest tournaments.
Of course, it simplifies the logistics for the family in relation to work as well. Where there are also larger sums to save by booking flights and hotels early, says sports director Gonçalo Moura.

Do something with the players
If you book a place in one of the programs before December 31st, you get a week’s trial training with NF Academy’s partner club in Portugal, Club de Cascais. Here you will also be evaluated by the player developers, and get the chance to take new steps towards new challenges.
Which, for example, could be the novelty Costa Daurada, which replaces the MIC tournament in Spain this year. There, the logistics became too demanding for both players and parents, as the matches were spread over vast areas.
This year we will participate in a new Easter tournament in Salou, Barcelona. Where we field teams for both girls and boys in partnership with Sporting Lisbon. We’re really looking forward to this, says Moura.
NF Acedemy works with both the entirety and the details of the game. Or as the mentology is called “Learn the game by playing it”
Felix and Fabian have had very good experiences with NF Academy’s program football technically and socially. Social in that they have not known others in the group and have had to get to know each other, which makes one a little braver and more confident in oneself.
Both of them have had a very good development, starts Stina Grønlie, mother of two of the NF Academy players.
Felix has grown a lot at NF’s academies, because the coaches have worked a lot on his confidence and belief in himself. This has helped him a lot on his own team as well. Technically, he is a completely different player now than when he started in NF.
Fabian had a different starting point, but we’ve seen a lot of development here as well. Especially regarding the strategic aspects of football; understanding of the game and the ability to make correct and good decisions in the game, Stina Grønlie completes.

The taste for more
Sports Director Ricardo Silva talks about a 2023 as the year of all time for Norway’s biggest academy, but he is clear that next year will be even better for the players in the NF Academy.
The litany of this year’s program will be a taste gem for what’s to come as the New Year’s rockets hit the ground. You should probably secure a spot well before that.
The Riga Cup in January is a high-level tournament against big clubs’ academies that are both well organised play-wise and with a breadth of player material that is impressive. This is a tough challenge and a tournament where our players can challenge themselves, Silva starts before heading into the winter break weeks in spring-beautiful Cascais. The suburb of Lisbon.
Where NF Elite training camp takes place during the winter holidays. It is always a perfect combination of great development and valuable experience in cooperation with Sporting CP.
Where the players get to train inside the Cristiano Ronaldo Sporting Academy, play against their teams and of course take steps in their development against players at the same level.
The week was filled with intense activities in the form of training and development. Initially, we were aware that Noah was going to get to deal with quality and challenges. Both in terms of his age and physique. And it quickly became apparent that reality came as a blow to the face, but that reality is needed to grasp and grasp where the standard is for professional footballers.
It was heavy, tough and sometimes demanding. But, and a pretty big but, Noah has had a tremendous mental development, says dad Haakon Scultze.
Challenged socially
This year we delivered strong performances in the Easter tournaments MIC, Barcelona, and Future Cup in Barcelona. The 2010 team became champions in Spain, where they and the 2007 team got to match up against solid academies such as FC Barcelona and FC Porto.
The 2012/13 group brought home first and third place in Sweden, continues sporting director Silva, who can again reveal that the summer of 2024 also features the ever-popular NF International Programs around Scandinavia.
There, a number of players are selected for the Qualification Camp in Denmark. Four of those were picked this year by Sporting’s scout for a training stint in Lisbon. Then we should mention that NF High Performance was again a success for the second year in a row.
Here there is a high level of players, who live as professionals for ten days. Portuguese clubs, agents and scouts follow this closely, and several of our players brought to Portuguese clubs in the first year.
The Laola Cup in Hamburg is the last international tournament of the summer.
What can also be taken with it is that players are challenged socially in their spare time. In our time, mostly players sit on the phone. Therefore, there will be little or no dynamics after exercise.
The coaches don’t even have to attend, but can “order” the players to, for example, take a bath in the pool without a phone. We are delighted and are already thinking about the next camp,” Scultze continued.

Simple and important
After that, NF Elite training camp in the autumn holidays will be the last program abroad for the year.
This was great for the whole family. The boys were very happy to learn more football and to make new acquaintances. The parents thought it was great when the children were having fun, and we also got to enjoy ourselves a little on our terms. It is also very nice to combine NF’s academy with everyday training at home, Stina Grønlie concludes.
After the autumn holidays, local programs in Norway and Denmark will start in earnest, including the very popular NF Team Training. This lays the foundation for many to take the next step in their development.
The philosophy is in many ways simple, but at the same time an understanding of details must be in place to understand the concept of NF. There are new ways of thinking. At the same time, they’re going to be put into practice, and the coaches were exceptionally good at that.
Noah has had a great learning outcome and grown so much in a short period of time. Much of what Noah refers to is knowledge he has gained directly from NF, concludes dad Haakon Scultze.
