NF Academy repeats last year’s success in Denmark
NF Academy sends several teams to the international football tournament Cup No. 1, which is within shooting distance of many with eager and promising players in the house.
Frederikshavn is a city many people have a relationship with as tourists.
Ever since 1984, the city in the north has also been the organizer of what is one of the best youth tournaments in the world.
Cup No. 1 attracts thousands of players from all over the world, and this year NF Academy is sending several teams to the tournament that is played July 6-11.
The tournament is a prime example of how football should be experienced. Brilliantly organized, professionally executed that is played on beautiful grass pitches against tough international opposition from all over the world.
After sending teams to tournaments in Eastern Europe, Sweden and Spain earlier this year, NF Academy travels to Cup No. 1 with several boys’ teams in the classes 2013-2016. A tournament that the Portuguese inspired academy won last year
This will be an exciting tournament for us this year as well, especially for our Swedish and Norwegian players. One of the new elements for them will be playing 8 vs 8, which is not so common in their home country.
It will be a valuable experience and an opportunity to develop in a new setting, says NF Academy’s head coach Rodrigo Silva.

Developing players and teams
While the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico roll across the TV screens, the world is running at half machine to follow the big stars in the best company.
During the same period, something happens in Frederikshavn that can send you one step closer to your dream of playing on the biggest stage sometime in the future.
NF Academy has coaches with many years of experience from solid Portuguese top clubs, all with a UEFA B license or higher. The philosophy is to develop game understanding, decision-making and technical skills through intensive and targeted training.
Following the mantra that is the common thread in everything that happens in the field. Learn the game by playing it. A philosophy that is the same as, among other things, Sporting CP.
NF Academy is the Portuguese top club’s extending arm in Scandinavia, which means that young talented players can get opportunities for training stays. There are several NF Academy players who have followed that course.
The preparation is one of the unique things about being part of NF Academy’s teams in international arenas. The program starts as a training camp, to build team spirit and get to know each other both on and off the field. When the tournament starts, the players are already well interacted, strengthened by both previous experiences together and a strong community.
This week, little is happening in a club context, and this summer’s football World Cup creates a longer break. Then we can offer a top international match arena and training with high quality with all facilities available. The players spend the night at a school, which was a success factor last year.
Something we have done in our NF Qualificastions Camps before, but it was the first time in an international tournament for NF Academy. It is a unique and enriching social experience, which encourages interaction between players from different teams and countries, Silva continues.

Family vacation
NF Academy always schedules and tournaments at times that do not clash with the club activity, so that the offer does not compete with the parent club’s, but serves as a valuable supplement.
Those who want to be the best train when the rest rests. The school holidays are a great time to take steps as a player. When the domestic series takes a summer break, the grass is often at its greenest, so why not use the time to seek development when the sun is at its highest in the Danish sky?
Together with NF Academy, which over the years has built up a strong position as a player developer in Scandinavia.
This year’s NF Selection Cup No. 1 in beautiful Frederikshavn, is by the way the 41st edition, and here you come to a tournament that has gathered everything from the sporting to the social in one area. Which creates a lively atmosphere.
The rest of the family can, for example, stay at the four-star Hotel Jutlandia right by the harbour.
Frederikshavn has much more than just football to offer, where everything from a real southern atmosphere on the Palm Beach to a real atmosphere in the old town and tourist attractions such as Nordre Skanse, Bangsbo Manor or the forts at the entrance to the city.
Despite a modest 24,000 inhabitants, there is also a wide variety of shops and restaurants to choose from.
