Professional training

NF Elite is a selection program, that is, one must apply to be admitted to the NF Academy system, which is a week of high quality training.

The players have two sessions daily under coaches with top international academy backgrounds, and they live and eat as a team, and have a lot of social free time together in a great hotel in Estoril within walking distance to the training arena.

Through a week of high intensity and quality training, NF Academy takes its players on a journey, which provides inspiration to work even more strictly in training at home. The NF Elite training camp is a complete measure in preparation for all measures within, region teams or national teams, transfer to a larger club or get international references and experiences.

Our coaches give concrete feedback on what players should work more on, beyond conducting high intensity workouts. Where the individual is part of developing the team or as the Portuguese methodology says, among other things: Learn the game by playing it.

Scouts are watching

Through NF Academy’s collaboration with the Portuguese top club Sporting Club of Portugal, is the training sessions inside the club’s academy. There, the training sessions are led by Sporting academy’s coaches, and the players get an insight into the professional environment as a player.

The training facility is right next to the Estádio José Alvalade, which is Sportings home stadium, in the heart of Lisbon. For the most of the games, tickets are available on matchday. For those who wish, it is possible to watch a match from the Portuguese top league on 2. and 23. of October when Sporting plays at home.

At regular intervals, NF Academy players are sent on trial to Sporting. There will be scouts present during the training sessions and matches against Sporting’s academy team.

During NF Elite training last year, two players were invited to train with Sportings own academy team. A total of 16 players from NF Academy’s program got this chance in 2021.

Successful training methodology

Of course, to imagine the fantastic Estádio José Alvalade there, is possible with at stadium tour, and a visit to the club’s own museum is part of the experience. This is a club with a proud history, which has fostered top players like Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo. In recent years, Sporting has supplied a number of players to the Premier League and other major leagues in Europe.

Most have attended the Sporting school from young football years. It is the same school that NF Academy’s coaches have been a part of.  They give you a deep insight into the Portuguese football methodology, which has been proven to be one of the most successful in the last ten years.

Through the participation in NF Elite, players also get the opportunity to be selected in the squad for our international Elite selection teams and programs that participate in elite tournaments against some of the best clubs in Europe.
