NF Selection Future Cup is the program that many have taken their first step towards the international stage, or helped many young players to take their next step in their development towards bigger clubs, circuit, zone and national teams.
On April 2-6, the renowned Portuguese academy, with strong ties to Scandinavia, is back at the Future Cup in Gothenburg. A tournament that both provides international references, but also forges new friendships between young players with the same goals on the football field.
Here, the understanding of the game will be strengthened, and the players will gain important experience in integrating into new player groups with players from different countries. Something that will make the transition to a new club at a later date easier.
NF Academy will send out 6 teams in the age groups U11-U17, and gives dedicated and eager players the chance to meet foreign teams and develop as both a player and a person a little outside the bubble in everyday training at home.

Perfect Easter holiday
In Sweden’s second largest city, players, coaches and family members live at the fantastic Gothia Towers. A 4.5-star hotel with modern rooms, a central location and great facilities.
While the whole family gets the perfect Easter holiday in Gothenburg, NF Academy selection teams in seven age groups with a total of around 75 players in this international tournament.
The program runs Monday, Thursday to Easter Sunday.
This is a good place to start, for those players who are looking for bigger international tournaments or programs with NF Academy towards summer and autumn.
Future Cup attracts the best clubs from all over Scandinavia, but also includes a number of larger and medium-sized clubs from Sweden, Denmark and Norway. For many teams and players, the Future Cup is the final touch to their form before the domestic league starts.
Future Cup is one of NF Academy’s most popular tournaments, always with fantastic feedback from parents and players. It is a very well organized tournament, with hundreds of teams participating and many challenges for our players.
With competitive teams from all over Scandinavia, our players get to develop a lot under the guidance of our Portuguese coaches, says NF Academy coach Pedro Cebola.
NF Academy has put behind it another successful season, where Team Training as usual has had a large influx of young, dedicated and promising players.
This is the program where NF Academy works most closely with the players over time, and which can qualify for a place on the teams for international tournaments and programs such as Riga Cup, Costa Daurada, Future Cup and High Performance.
International opportunities
NF Academy’s instructors are from Portugal with broad experience from development work in top European clubs such as Sporting Lisbon, Benfica, Porto and other world academies in Europe.
In the programs, the coaching staff is very good at following up each individual player at all times. It is also through participation in local and regional programs that the players can qualify to become part of the international offers NF Academy has. Or get opportunities for training stays at Sporting CP.
In 2021, NF Academy signed an official collaboration with the Portuguese giant. It gives the club with the world-renowned academy access to young talents in Scandinavia through NF Academy’s programs.
Sporting CP is represented by scouts in both tournaments and training sessions, and several of NF Academy’s players have received international training stays that way.

The Future Cup in April will be a good place to start.
In addition to group and cup games, NF Academy has added a training session before the actual tournament starts. There will be team meetings and concrete individual feedback, in addition to fun and learning for all the players.
All teams are led by an experienced Portuguese head coach and all teams have access to a goalkeeper coach and physiotherapist to ensure the best possible experience and development for the players.
