NF Academy works with the goal of delivering the best programs to prepare players to take the next step in their careers – and offer opportunities that are pure game changers for players.
For this, High Performance is a program with limited seats. A few of those who apply are offered a place. The rest of the player group are highly rated players from the NF Academy system.
High Performance is the most suitable program for the older players, who started their development journey with NF Academy when they were younger. This exclusive program is the final step in our development model. Oskar was discovered
NF High Performance is an elite gathering for players who want a complete training experience at Rio Maior Sports Center. Oneof the Portuguese national team with state-of-the-art facilities.
The program is a combination of training sessions and matches against the Portuguese top academy. Scouts from Sporting, Benfica, Braga, Vitoria, Estoril, Belenenses and Estrela as Amadora follow the matches closely. Coaches from American colleges are also present.
It was crucial for several of the players of NF Academy in the summer of 2022.
Oskar Nielsen from Denmark was one of those who received an offer from a top club. The 18-year-old moved to Lisbon with his mother Hanne, and is now living out his boyhood dream in Belenenses’ academy.
It’s been a fantastic six months, where I’ve played a lot of football and learned a lot. Playing on one of the best teams in the Portuguese league has opened many doors to the future. Whether it’s here in Portugal or elsewhere,” says Oskar Nielsen.
Mom Hanne has followed her son on the journey, which started with participation in local NF Academy programs a few years back.
All in all, I am really happy about the opportunities the participation in High Performance has given Oskar. One should be aware that the everyday life of a young footballer can be tough. It takes a lot for what Oskar is doing now to be possible, but seeing him happily makes me very happy and proud.
This is an experience and we chose to go 100 percent for it together, says Hanne Nielsen.
Birk’s journey to his destination
Last summer, dad Geir Marring sent his son Birk alone to Lisbon and the High Performance program. The 14-year-old was going to train there and play with and against boys who were two years older. A participation that meant a lot both on and off the field.
For Birk it was a very good school in English. From being the quiet boy who dares not say anything in English class, to coming back as a champion. Motivation as a player has always been high, but now it reached new heights. NF and Sporting made it possible for Birk to play at the top level in his age group. Training and school suddenly became more important than ever.
The grades even better, and he was able to set goals in his further work towards becoming good as a person, football player and not least seeing others at school who may be struggling, starts Geir Marring
The son has previously participated in several of NF Academy’s local and regional programs, before the 2008 player was offered to join the international tournaments around Europe. This resulted in the offer of a place at High Performance, which Marring junior accepted.
The journey with NF Academy has been an experience of a lifetime that has allowed Birk to be seen by the national team school and several clubs here at home in Norway. He is now on a new journey at a new club that will give him a new boost. Here there will be regional matches and Interkrets.
Thanks to NF Academy, and how they have followed him up, is a dream for a 14-15 year old now in the process of being realized, completes dad Geir Marring.
High level
NF High Performance is an intensive 10-day development camp, where players are guided by top UEFA coaches with national and international experience. The players participating must keep from a high regional to high national level, and have a strong motivation to develop their skills.
